Time Waits for No One
Imagine a day far off in the distant future and imagine that as you reflect on your life you are blissful and happy – you are pleased with the wonderful life you’ve been blessed with. Looking back at your life and all that you’ve achieved and acquired and all the relationships you’ve developed, what matters to you most?
As a coach, part of my job is to tell people what they need to hear not what they want to hear.
Here’s the harsh reality:
Time waits for no one.
One of two things will happen for all of us:
- Outcome 1: We will live a long life and along the way we will reflect on our respective lives and either we’ll be happy that we created and experienced the life we dreamed of or we’ll regret that we settled.
- Outcome 2: Not everyone gets the luxury of growing old. If our time on Earth is shorter than we hope, shouldn’t we get busy creating and living the life we want to experience?
People settle for a lot of reasons:
- Fear
- Don’t think they have time
- Feel guilty for wanting more
- Lack of Urgency
- Feel stuck
- Don’t know how to get from where they are to where they want to be
You don’t get to decide how much time you get on this Earth, but you do get to decide:
Will you create the life you want or settle for what is?
Only you know whether your current life is amazing, beautiful, successful, happy, meaningful, fulfilling, ____________ [insert whatever adjective you prefer] enough for you. Most people want more out of life and yet too often people settle for the life they have rather than creating the life they want.
Don’t fall into the trap of judging yourself nor justifying why your life is the way it is. Simply recognize that:
If you continue managing your life the way you currently are, your future will most likely look a lot like your life looks now.
It’s your life so you get to decide whether the current state of your life is enough for you. If you want to dream more, learn more, do more or be more, you do not have to go it alone, I created the Life1440 CEO Program™ to guide people through the process of creating the life they dream of living. I would love to help you stop settling and start living the life you desire.
